Relaxation – It’s as simple as Breathing
The challenges of everyday life can be stressful. When we feel stressed, the first thing we want is the quick fix, to make things better, and while relaxation isn’t always as simple as a quick fix, there IS one simple thing we can do.
We can start the relaxation process by breathing. “What’s that? “ I hear you say “Breathe? But I do that everyday, every minute, even when I am asleep! How can doing something I am already doing help me manage stress?”
Starting to become aware of our breathing helps us begin to be aware of the things we need to do to relax. If you are aware that you feel stressed, take a few moments away from the daily routine and watch and be aware of your breathing. Breathing naturally and gently can have a powerful, calming effect on your mind. As you breathe in, feel the tranquility and as you breathe out, let go of all your anxieties and worries. Relaxation can be a simple process- it does not have to be complicated at all, and this is a good place to start.
